and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD).
The popular Rated K program by Korina Sanches featured the story of Spyros.
It also highlighted Marco's disability and the resulting bullying he experienced from other kids.
He was bullied in elementary and high school and was traumatized.
He was deeply affected by the negative experience and went into depression.
He underwent speech-language therapy and neuro-psychological counseling to deal with the disability.
But he's also an exceptional child. His joy & love for the Chinese Yoyo
helped him cope with the social isolation and stress of bullying.
The Chinese yoyo was his redemption.
He rose from this traumatic experience and disability to master the yoyo
and became the youngest two time National Grand Champion.
A feat that has never been done before in the Philippines.
This experience motivated Marco and his brother to take the
Anti-Bullying and Anti-Drug issue as their advocacy.
The Spyros use their story to inspire the youth -
to work hard, believe in God, overcome their problems & follow their dream.
As members of the youth, the Spyros feel a responsibility
to help build a brighter and better future for all.
While they hope to popularize the Chinese Yoyo in the Philippines and share it with the kids,
they're also using their talent to educate people on the negative effects of bullying on children
and its consequent social and drug problems.
They have performed in numerous schools and universities
to bring the anti-bullying and anti-drugs message.
Through the Chinese Yoyo they hope to
prevent bullying and stop drugs in our society through education and awareness.
